General Summary

Work where you study! Student Employment programs at Lake-Sumter State College are intended to provide real-world job experiences for students, including an application and interview processes, on-the-job training and experiences, and professional soft skills.

LSSC student employee supervisors will work with student employees on their work schedules to ensure that education is the priority.

The Audio Visual Helpdesk Assistant assists with supporting, delivering, setting up, operating, maintaining, and repairing audiovisual technology in class and meeting rooms.
May also be required to occasionally deliver, set-up, and operate portable A/V equipment.

This position reports to the AV Technician on the Leesburg Campus.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

1. Set up A/V equipment for classes and meetings as needed.
2. Removal of old A/V equipment as directed.
3. Install, maintain, and replace security cameras as needed.
4. Assist faculty and staff with any A/V needs and requests.
5. Assist with inventory of equipment.
6. Transfer equipment between rooms and campuses.
7. Deliver and set up portable A/V equipment for the needs of the college.
8. Ensure a clean and safe workspace.
9. Attend all meetings and training sessions as required.
10. Assist IT department with needs.
11. Maintain working cell phone for calls on standby projects.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be a current LSSC student.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

1. Basic computer skills using Windows 10 computer, office suite, and email.
2. Some knowledge of basic video connections and how they work.
3. Use of hand and some power tools.
