Job Summary
The Turner College of Business at Columbus State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Director of the Butler Center for Business and Economic Research. The mission of the Butler Center is to facilitate, coordinate, and serve as a focal point of the Turner College of Business' regional economic research and development activities. The Center currently provides applied economic and business research to local, and state government as well as to current and potential businesses looking to expand in the Chattahoochee Valley region. This position plays a critical role in the outreach efforts of the Tuner College. The Director must have the communication and personal skills to interface with the foremost local, state and national leaders in industries such as retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and tourism. The selected candidate must also possess the necessary domain knowledge, statistical and economic underpinnings and communication skills necessary to oversee and communicate applied research and economic development projects.

Responsibilities
The Director's responsibilities include the management, continued development, and marketing of the Center with responsibility for assisting firms, government agencies and other stakeholders with analysis of local, state, and national business and economic conditions. The Director will have the intellectual capital of the faculty of the Turner College as a resource that is available on a contract basis to complete or assist with projects beyond or outside of the Director's expertise. The Center Director will also be responsible for interacting with local, state, and national media with respect to economic conditions and policies in the region and serves as a resource and a liaison to faculty experts on these matters. He or she is also responsible for generating externally funded grants and projects which produce a portion of the Center's budget.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in an economics, finance, accounting or a related area from a fully accredited institution.
  • A demonstrated ability of successfully directing externally funded projects.
  • Proven record of outstanding written and oral presentation skills and a proven track record of demonstrating impact.
  • Experience developing relationships with government agencies and private industry.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include experience working in a regional economic Center.

Proposed Salary
The annualized salary range for this position is $58,468 - $70,000 and includes full benefits.
