Job Summary:

The Student Success Center Hourly Assistant reports directly to the Testing Center/Student Success Center Coordinator.

The part-time Student Success Center Hourly Assistant provides support for students, faculty, staff and administration in the day to day operations of the Student Success Center to include the Testing Center. This is a part-time hourly position with no benefits. Scheduled to work up to 19.50 hours a week with a flexible work schedule. Some Saturdays maybe required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a minimum of an Associates degree.

Skill in the use of a personal computer. Ability to deal with public in a professional, courteous manner. Ability to understand and perform complex oral and written instructions with little or no supervision. Ability to work in occasional stressful situations. Ability to perform detailed work rapidly and accurately. Knowledge of Word and Excel. High degree of communication skills, written and spoken. Ability to deal with students, faculty and staff in professional manner. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Education is preferred.

Experience working in a testing center of lab environment is preferred.

SALARY :

$12 -$14 per hour (part-time; no benefits)

Work Hours:

19.5 hours per week, flexible between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. Infrequent Saturdays required.

Essential Job Functions:

Work directly with the Chair for General Education and Developmental Studies and the Testing Center/Student Success Center Coordinator to establish tasks to assist Developmental Education Faculty. This may include but is not limited to data tracking, maintaining records of lab times, preparation of testing packets, and correspondence.

Assist Student Services and the Coordinator with determining accuracy of student placement in developmental courses.

Essential Job Functions:

Proctor tests for students. These include make-up exams, students with accommodations, and students from other schools.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide assistance to students for for HESI, Pearson VUE, TSIA, and other testing.

Essential Job Functions:

Troubleshoot course-related computer technology issues for students.

Be able to provide management of day to day operations of the Student Success Center in the absences of the Coordinator.

Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, faculty, and administration in the Center, through email, or by telephone.

Assist with the the institutions involvement with the American Cancer Society’s T-shirt sales.

Check students in/out of the Student Success Center, for labs and testing.

Other duties as determined by the Coordinator or Chair.
