The department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering programs.

Position Summary:

The post-doc will work with Dr. Ifana Mahbub for a DARPA funded project related to phased-array antenna design for beamforming and RF integrated circuit design for far-field wireless power transfer application. The position will start from September 1, 2021. In particular, the post-doc will work on developing the ultrawideband phased-array antennas for beamforming energy to deliver power wirelessly, characterize the fabricated system and develop the model of the beamforming to estimate. In addition, the post-doc is expected to draft manuscripts and help prepare research proposals.

Minimum Qualifications:

A PhD degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, with research interests in phased-array antenna, beamforming, RF energy harvesting circuit design, and wireless power transfer.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong publication records in phased-array antenna, beamforming, RF energy harvesting circuit design, and wireless power transfer are preferred.

Design embedded UWB phased-array antenna with novel waveform engineering for an integrated transmitter

Description of Job Duty:

Optimize electrical beamforming and mechanical steering of the Transmitter antennas to create a reconfigurable energy sphere

Integrate MIMO (multiple input multiple output) WPT (wireless power transfer) network along with on-chip rectifier and DC-DC converter circuitry and experimental validation using a UAS (unmanned aircraft system) network as a framework

The post-doc will be mentoring two Ph.D. students who would be working on the same project.
