This is a part-time appointment teaching at the Federal Correctional Complex -Beaumont and Mark W. Stiles state prisons as needed. The successful applicant must be capable of meeting clearance requirements of the FCC-Beaumont and Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice.

Instructor reports to the Director of the Inmate Education Program. The instructor will be responsible for providing instruction for the Inmate Education Program. Duties and responsibilities include providing classroom instruction of mathematics classes using face-to-face delivery, using leadership in the implementation of curriculum. Develop and implement Core Assignment to be given to all students each semester. The successful applicant must be capable of meeting clearance requirements of the FCC-Beaumont and Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree and 18 hours graduate credit in math required for credit classes from a regionally accredited institution of higher education is required. Bachelor’s degree required for remedial math classes. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, speak, listen, and see. The employee is occasionally required to sit, lift, push, pull and carry objects.
Occasional travel required. Valid Texas Drivers License is required.
Working Conditions: Normal classroom setting. Some hazardous conditions may exist.
Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D. in math preferred from a regionally accredited institution of higher education for credit classes. Ability to understand the teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process. Ability to deal with students, faculty, and staff members in professional manner. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments.
Salary:$2,200 per class per semester
Work Hours:Depends on teaching load.
