Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Psychiatry Human Resources and Faculty Affairs (HR/FA) Team Lead position.  This is a work lead position with supervision over others and considered a subject matter expert in a HR processes, reporting to the Human Resources Manager.

 

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, one of four campuses in the University of Colorado System, is the major academic medical center in the Rocky Mountain region. The Department of Psychiatry is one of the largest units in the UCD-SOM and is comprised of 5 Divisions.  The Department currently has approximately 475 paid appointments.  In addition, the department has 371 clinical faculty members, 125 regular faculty from Affiliated Hospitals (i.e., Denver Health, National Jewish, VA), and 94 faculty with secondary/adjoint appointments in Psychiatry. The University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry has just welcomed their new Department Chair, C. Neill Epperson, MD and is in the process of growing the Department of Psychiatry with new programs and expanding existing programs.

Nature of the work:

This is a multifaceted position, reporting to the Human Resources Manager. The HR/FA Team Lead is responsible for daily operations related to HR and FA processing and including management of entries in HR system across five divisions in the department (hiring, appointment changes, terminations), managing payroll entries and first point of contact for payroll processing and issues, managing new employee appointments and onboarding, assist Faculty Affairs Manager with credentialing process, aid in faculty promotions process and dossier preparation, oversee and manage leave time reporting, tracking and system management including issue investigation and annual leave certification, involved with HR projects and additional duties as assigned.  The position will be the direct supervisor for two administrative assistants within the HR group.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of HR system entries and payroll entries on a monthly basis
  • Lead individual and group new employee orientation meetings
  • Manage leave tracking process including uploads, reconciliation and communication
  • Lead annual leave certification process
  • Assist Faculty Affairs Manager with credentialing process with affiliate organizations
  • Manage faculty communications including list serves, committee tracking, accomplishment tracking, etc
  • Assist Faculty Affairs Manager with dossier prep as needed
  • Provide oversight for Temp/Student employee hiring process
  • Manage moonlighting/ADP payments
  • Oversee HCM entry process and monthly payroll
  • HR Project involvement
  • Working retiree process management
  • Supervision responsibility for two HR Administrative Assistant positions

Salary and Benefits:

 

The salary range (or the hiring range) for this position is $ 61,765 - $78,565.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution. 
  • Two years of professional level experience in HR.
 

Substitution: A combination of education and related professional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in CU Systems including PeopleSoft HCM, Taleo, PRiSM and OnBase.
  • Experience in CU Finance policies and procedures
 

Competencies:

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.
  • Knowledge of the professional standards, concepts, and practices of recruitment and selection, employee relations, or organizational development and human resource policy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.Thorough knowledge of current management and leadership methods and best practices.
  • A demonstrated ability to organize and complete complex projects and to work under tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, organized
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, handle a fast-paced environment.
