The Department of Radiology at University of Colorado is seeking applicants for a full-time Clinical Diagnostic Medical Physicist and faculty member in the Radiological Sciences Section. The candidate will join a team of eight diagnostic and nuclear medicine academic physicists supporting clinical operations at multiple University of Colorado Health hospitals in the Denver metro area and at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. The candidate will provide clinical support for multiple imaging modalities, with an emphasis on MRI. The position also includes teaching, research, and leadership opportunities. We are interested in candidates at any stage of their career.This is a terrific opportunity to join a highly collaborative section and department at the Anschutz Medical Campus in the Denver metro area. Duties
The Radiological Sciences section has a strong regional and national reputation and is currently composed of eight diagnostic and nuclear medicine medical physicists. Members have diverse clinical and research interests and are nationally recognized experts in multiple subspecialty areas of medical physics. The section supports clinical activities at both general and pediatric hospitals. We provide physics education for Radiology Residents and for undergraduate and graduate students through a partnership with the University of Colorado Department of Biomedical Engineering. We are involved in various research activities across the medical campus. All section members hold faculty appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.Salary and Benefits:The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at: Assistant Professor: $145,000- $168,000Associate Professor: $168,000- $191,000Professor: $191,000- $200,000The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. - M.S. or Ph.D. in a physical science or D.M.P. ABR Certification or Eligibility in Diagnostic Medical Physics. Strong clinical experience in MRI. Ability to lift common imaging phantoms used in the course of equipment testing.
