Post-Doctoral Fellow

Full-time position in the research lab of Susan Boackle, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at the University of Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus. This laboratory studies the etiology and pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus and other autoimmune diseases. The successful candidate will study the role of complement receptor 1 in B cell tolerance using mouse and human systems. Job Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not restricted to the performance of techniques involving biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology and cellular biology, the cloning and production of recombinant proteins, the performance of assays of immune function, the performance of adoptive transfers in mice, the generation of bone marrow chimeras in mice, lentiviral transduction of cells, performance of multiparameter flow cytometry, performance of genomic assays, and the study of animal models of disease.

Responsibilities include: 1) the performance of techniques involving biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology and cellular biology, 2) the cloning and production of recombinant proteins, 3) the performance of assays of immune function, 4) the development of genetically engineered and humanized mice, 5) the performance and analysis of genomic experiments and 6) the study of animal models of disease and tolerance induction.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $53,760 -$65,292, based on number of full years of relevant postdoctoral experience using NIH Kirschstein-NRSA stipend limits.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD, PhD, or MD/PhD
Preferred Qualifications:

    A strong background in biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, cellular biology, genomics, or related fieldsExperience with relevant experimental approachesDemonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research evidenced by first author publicationsProficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  1. Proficient with applicable data analysis software
  2. Experience designing, conducting, and analyzing -omics experiments
  3. Experience with animal models, including the use of adoptive transfers and bone marrow chimeras
  4. Experience with multiparameter flow cytometry
