Performing Arts Marketing Specialist Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 23559124 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $71,800 - $137,400 Position Information Under the general supervision of the Director of CHASS Marketing & Communications, and with input and feedback from the Performing Arts Administration and the Chairs of the Departments of Creative Writing, Dance, Music, and Theatre, the Performing Arts Marketing Specialist analyzes, creates and executes all facets of comprehensive marketing and awareness campaigns, making recommendations to best serve the organization’s objectives and goals. Responsible for brand building and marketing/communication strategies to promote use and awareness of public performances, academic performances and instructional offerings of the Departments of Creative Writing, Dance, Music, and Theatre. Engages frequently with campus and community stakeholders, and targets on-campus and local/regional/national audiences to increase awareness of Performing Arts people, events, programs, classes, achievements, recognition, rankings and resources. Ensures timely and accurate posting of content and pursues continuous improvement of the departmental marketing and communications goals. Primary responsibilities will include graphic design, web design, email marketing, social media marketing and event calendaring. Specific media collateral to be produced will include writing and graphic design of all Performing Arts digital newsletters, websites, posters, flyers, event programs, brochures, management of all campus calendaring for four departments via Localist, and social media scheduling, posting, engagement, tracking and reporting. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Master's degree (or comparable experience) in marketing, public affairs, communications, public relations, events management, or a related field from an accredited university or college. Experience Experience Requirement 6 - 10 years of related experience. Required Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in audience development Preferred Minimum of 6-10 years of experience working in an ad agency, university marketing department and/or performing arts institution Preferred
Minimum Requirements Ability to lead and mentor others in the department.
Advanced skills to devise broad design ideas, present them to clients, and produce results on time and within budget.
Critical thinking skills, advanced organizational skills and proactive problem-solving/problem resolution skills.
Advanced knowledge of production processes for a variety of media and knowledge of vendor requirements for a variety of products.
Advanced interpersonal communications skills, including active listening skills and skills to work effectively within teams and to effectively provide advanced design advice and consultation to clients on all aspects of visual communications.
Advanced knowledge of design and communications concepts and applicable software applications.
Advanced design, creative and artistic skills.
Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience utilizing design software applications such the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design).
Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in front-end web design, website best practices and html editing.
Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in designing and scheduling digital newsletters utilizing platforms such as Constant Contact and MailChimp and managing email databases.
Leading edge marketing knowledge and understanding of integrated marketing techniques.
Advanced knowledge of branding concepts, combined with an ability to understand and contribute new ideas to marketing events, programs and promotions.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while achieving maximum results and delivering work that is considered innovative and well beyond the standard
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a deadline-intensive environment.
Preferred Qualifications Advanced knowledge of the location, including its vision, mission, goals, and objectives.

Experience working with members of the performing arts community, especially artists in the fields of creative writing, dance, music and theatre.
