Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Testing. The Assistant Director of Testing is responsible for providing comprehensive leadership and direction to the day-to-day operation of the UNG Test Centers (4 locations) and the Prometric Test Center (Dahlonega) to ensure that the centers are productive, effective, efficient, and continue to meet the testing needs of the University, its students, the local community, and the public at large.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day operation of the UNG Test Centers (across all 4 locations) and the Prometric Test Center; respond to all testing related inquiries by the Director of Testing as requested; prepare related office, university, and BOR reports for the Director of Testing as requested; serve as central point of contact for all issues related to testing for the University, and Prometric.
  • Supervise employees responsible for logistics of testing students receiving accommodations. Supervise University and Prometric Coordinators of Testing. Recruit, train, and supervise pool of proctors from across campus and the community to assist with all academic, professional, government, and corporate assessments; recruit, and train, Serve as TCA in all areas, as needed.
  • Manage Testing Center payroll and budgets to include state-funded, grant, and revenue; maintain customer database and accounting database for the Testing Center.
  • Collaborate with IIT to ensure that required updates of testing labs and online registration systems are completed timely and effectively; work with Registrar, Associate VPAA, BOR, and testing agencies on behalf of students with test related problems; communicate with personnel from various testing companies as needed to ensure that UNG’s testing needs are met; work with and provide general assistance to UNG departments in all testing related matters and/or concerns; maintain effective working relationships with examinees, professional associates, and colleagues.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of UNG, USG, and national testing programs; attend to testing inquiries over the phone and in person from students and general public; schedule testing appointments for test candidates; develop annual testing schedule for and oversee the administration of all assessments; perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of administration of Testing Services at the College level
  • Strong knowledge of office and administrative practices and principles
  • Strong knowledge of office computer and software, including BANNER, Windows, Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer-service and interpersonal skills; outstanding organizational and time-management skills; and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to complete concurrent or multiple tasks independently and creatively in a timely manner and under pressure of deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks; ability to make judgments and decisions independently; and ability to work well with people in general and with students from different racial, cultural, and other backgrounds in particular; ability to work as a team member; strong commitment to all-inclusive diversity; and ability to manage stress well and be flexible in a changing, fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Three years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to obtain Pearson VUE Administrator Certification; Prometric Administrator Certification (PTC and APTC); FBI clearance for administration of Internal Revenue Service exams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education testing center environment preferred.
