Assist the Director of Athletic Communications and the Associate AD for Communications with the day-to-day operations of the NCAA Division I Athletic Communications Office.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to perform traditional athletic communications duties such as writing various releases, producing game notes and game programs, editing photos and creating engaging graphics
  • Ability to capture in-game statistics during events and maintain accurate historical archives for assigned sports
  • Knowledge of live video streaming procedures and ability to produce engaging video content
  • Ability to manage and utilize multiple social media channels while producing content designed to grow engagement and interaction through those channels
  • Ability to use both still and video camera equipment as needed and to manage content
  • Ability to maintain all areas of athletics web site
  • Ability to field requests from members of the media and work with coaches, staff and student-athletes from assigned sport to help media with coverage of those sports
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with opposing SIDs and conference office staff members
  • Maintain compliance with all NCAA, ASUN Conference, Pioneer Football League, Stetson University, and Athletics Department rules, regulations, and policies

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree

Required Skills
  • Strong verbal, written and creative communication abilities
  • Excellent time-management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, relevant computer software to include Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office as well as statistical programs
  • Understanding of social media and the role of the various platforms in a modern communications operation
Required Experience
  • Minimum two years of experience in an athletic communications office or related setting. Can be student or graduate experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, sport administration or related field
  • Possession of and ability to maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history
