ABOUT MGH INSTITUTE:

MGH Institute of Health Professions is a graduate school in Boston that provides entry-level and post-professional programs in Nursing, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Genetic Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. The PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and a PhD and Master of Science in Health Professions Education have been added in recent years to meet rising demand for highly educated health care professionals, educators, and researchers. Integrating classroom learning with research and clinical experience, the Institute grants doctoral degrees, master's degrees, awards certificates of advanced study, and offers continuing education to practicing professionals.

The IHP is the only degree-granting affiliate in Mass General Brigham (MGB), the largest private employer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Department of Physical Therapy offers a 3-year DPT degree and a 1-year Residency in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. The DPT program is highly regarded and has an integrated modular curriculum that utilizes active learning approaches to learning. We have a strong commitment to team-based teaching. An interdisciplinary PhD program and integrated interprofessional activities reflect the commitment of the Institute to interprofessional education. Our highly respected faculty is recognized for expertise as educators, scholars and master clinicians, and for their involvement in leadership positions in the profession.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health at Rehabilitation Sciences at the MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for a 12-month, full time Assistant Professor/Associate Professor position. Responsibilities include teaching management of musculoskeletal conditions, advising, research/scholarship, and service. Strong candidates will have teaching experience and evidence of research success.  Research start-up support may be available.


 



Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates are expected to have an academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, ScD, DSc) or candidacy status and clinical or academic teaching experience.  A demonstrated record of scholarship or a clear scholarly agenda, and eligibility for physical therapy licensure in Massachusetts are required.
