Job Description

The Counseling Center is currently hiring for two Psychologist positions. One Psychologist will focus on trauma related services, and the second will focus on psychologic assessments.

Trauma focus: The selected candidate will have a leadership role as the Liaison to our Title IX Office. The candidate will provide individual and group services to students impacted by relationship power and violence. The candidate will provide trauma informed training to staff and collaborate on outreach programming on topics such as interpersonal violence.

Assessment focus: The successful candidate will be the lead for psychological assessment at our Center. The candidate will conduct SLD, ADHD, mood, and personality assessment batteries as well as generate assessment reports based on the psychological testing completed. The position leads our Assessment Seminar and associated training for Doctoral Interns and Assessment Practicum Student.

Both positions as Staff Psychologists will also provides a full range of generalist clinical services including individual, couple and group therapy, crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, supervision, and training. Service provision includes face-to-face and tel-psycholoical psychotherapeutic services to our community. The selected candidate may also have a demonstrated interest in an area such as alcohol/drug prevention, group therapy, providing services to students in health professions, Mens Issues, Complex Mental Health Issues, Autism Spectrum, program assessment and evaluation, or the use of technology and providing services to a diverse student population.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

    Provides individual therapy, group counseling, crisis intervention, and clinical supervision, outreach, and consultation services to the university community. Provides clinical services to diverse client populations and whose clinical work, supervision, and community intervention is infused with ethical and multicultural competency and who demonstrates clear interest and commitment to all dimensions of diversity. Evidence of strong generalist clinical skills. Demonstrated effectiveness in assessment and intervention with a range of clinical issues and complex diagnostic concerns. Demonstrated knowledge of developmental issues of college students and commitment to student success. Outstanding interpersonal skills demonstrated in speaking, listening, and writing. Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in developing outreach education programming. Consults with faculty and staff regarding student problems, training, program and organizational issues. Represents Counseling Services on University committees and participates in the Division of Student Affairs programs as assigned. Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with colleagues, campus departments, and student organizations. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A PhD/PsyD degree in Counseling, Clinical or Counseling Psychology. New graduates / ABD will be considered.
  • Active full licensure as a Psychologist or obtain licensure in the State of Missouri within 6 – 12 months of hire is required.Completion of an APA accredited Doctoral Internship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with diverse populations including college age students.
  • Experience working in a University/College Setting.

$53,600 - $57,800 annual
