Position Summary:
Works closely with the head football coach in all aspects of the football program. Has significant positional coaching responsibility, as well as editing and analyzing video, mentoring student-athletes, and recruiting qualified student-athletes within Middlebury College, NESCAC and NCAA rules.


Essential Functions:
Offer is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.

Assists head coach in all aspects of the football program including but not limited to coaching, recruiting, scheduling, program administration and budgeting.


General Responsibilities:
May teach as an Instructor in the Physical Education program.
Assist as needed with Event Management in the winter and spring seasons
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, including but not limited to strength and conditioning duties.


Qualifications
Education:

Bachelor’s Degree required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of football skills and strategy and the ability to effectively communicate these to student-athletes.
Applicants must possess proven, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a diverse community of faculty, staff, students and prospective students and their families.
The ability to work in a collaborative team environment with student-athletes, coaches, administrators.
An understanding and appreciation for a multicultural environment.
Working knowledge of NESCAC and NCAA rules and an understanding of the philosophy behind them.
Administrative skills such as organization and prioritization.
Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification must be maintained.


Experience:
Demonstrated effectiveness in coaching football is required. Coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.


Physical Demands:
Significant time on the field.
Significant amount of travel for recruiting and games.

The Bread Loaf School of English is in session each summer not only in Middlebury but also at Lincoln College, Oxford, in the United Kingdom; at St. John's College in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

There is also an overseas dimension to Middlebury College. The C.V. Starr-Middlebury Schools Abroad are located in Belo Horizonte, Berlin, Bordeaux, Buenos Aires, Concepción, Córdoba, Ferrara, Florence, Getafe, Guadalajara, Hangzhou, Irkutsk, La Serena, Logroño, Madrid, Mainz, Montevideo, Moscow, Niterói, Paris, Poitiers, Santiago, Temuco, Tucumán, Valdivia, Valparaíso, Xalapa, and Yaroslavl.
