General Summary

The School of Kinesiology and Recreation invites applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor in Sport Management. This is a 9-month, full time, non-tenure track position to begin August 16, 2021.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide quality instruction in a variety of graduate Sport Management sequence courses as well as undergraduate courses in the Recreation and Park Administration course of study. Contribute to high quality professional practice and/or independent study supervision as assigned.

Additional Information

The Sport Management Program is a graduate program in the School of Kinesiology and Recreation (www.kinrec.ilstu.edu), located in the College of Applied Science and Technology (www.cast.ilstu.edu). The School of Kinesiology and Recreation is housed within the state of the art Student Fitness Center and McCormick Hall building, which opened in January, 2011. The post-professional graduate program in the School of Kinesiology and Recreation is accredited by the CAATE. There are approximately 50 graduate students in the Sport Management program.

Required Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in Sport Management/Administration or a closely related discipline
2. State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
3. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
