Transylvania University (www.transy.edu), a top-tier, independent, residential liberal arts college of 1,000 students in Lexington, Kentucky, invites applications for the position of Digital Content and Technology Integration Specialist.

The successful candidate will support and advise faculty and instructional support staff on the development, redesign, delivery, and evaluation of quality instruction through the effective and innovative use of a range of established and emerging educational technologies. This person will work closely with faculty to assess the potential application of technology to strengthen a liberal arts education. This person will work closely with the co-directors of Transylvania’s Digital Liberal Arts (DLA) initiative and support the initiative’s efforts and programming. In addition, this person will transition digital resources back into the in-person classroom and develop training and other professional development opportunities to provide faculty and staff with the knowledge and ongoing support to become more confident and innovative in their use of technologies.

An advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Instructional Systems Design/Technology (ISD/IST), Curriculum/Instructional Design, Education/Educational Technology, or related field preferred. Candidates should have at least one year of instructional technology experience or demonstrated success teaching in higher education with creative and innovative pedagogical approaches to and inclusion of technology. We prefer candidates who possess strong internet competency, technical proficiency with web productivity tools, experience with digital media technology, and a passion for learning and hacking new technologies. The successful candidate needs to possess excellent communication skills and the competency to work with faculty who possess varying levels of technical skills. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and will demonstrate a commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of campus and the DLA mission.
