The College of Coastal Georgia is seeking candidates for the open position of Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice in the School of Business and Public Management.
Requirements for this position include course development and instruction in the field of criminal justice, with an emphasis on legal courses, such as constitutional law, criminal law, and courts and criminal procedure, as well as criminal investigation, homeland security, law enforcement, private sector security and other related topics.Essential Duties:
This position is primarily engaged in a combination of teaching, academic advisement, and research. Course delivery methods will include face-to-face, fully online, and hybrid formats. The selected candidate will be expected to manage and deliver courses via the D2L platform.

Minimum Qualifications and Training:
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Evaluate and grade student’s class work, assignments, and papers.
- Develop, administer, and grade examinations.
- Conduct academic advisement and career counseling.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field through professional associations, current literature, and participation in professional conferences.
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation.
- Prepare course materials, such as syllabi, including course learning objectives, in support of program objectives.
- Assist in program assessment and revision, as required.
- Support the academic community through active committee engagement and related assignments
This position requires a minimum of a Juris Doctorate with multi-jurisdictional law enforcement and criminal investigative experience strongly preferred, or a doctorate in criminal justice (or closely related field) combined with extensive legal and multi-jurisdictional law enforcement and criminal investigative experience. Candidates who possess both a terminal degree in either law (LL.M) or criminal justice (Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or closely related field) in combination with extensive multi-jurisdictional criminal investigative and court experience will receive priority consideration.Preferred Qualifications and Training:
