Job Description:


As a member of the Career Connections Center's Employer Engagement team, cultivate internship and job opportunities for Clark undergraduate students by expanding the breadth and depth of Clark University's employer relationships. As a career adviser, guide students in the development of their personal and professional goals to prepare for post-baccalaureate opportunities. This role will provide career advising to students enrolled in Clark's Becker Institute of Technology and Design, including Clark's first degree pathway in Interactive Media Design.



Employer engagement and campus recruiting:


  • Initiate and cultivate relationships with employers to source internship and employment opportunities for students.
  • Respond to current employer inquiries and conduct outreach to new employers to connect them to campus recruiting opportunities and services best suited to their talent needs and priorities.
  • In collaboration with the employer engagement team, develop and implement strategies to engage employers in recruiting Clark students through career fairs, networking events, site visits, virtual and on-campus programs, and other outreach initiatives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships as a liaison between students, alumni, employer representatives, faculty and staff. Be a resource and collaborator to faculty.
  • Assist with employer outreach activities, plan and participate in employer site visits, and initiate collaboration with professional associations to promote events/opportunities as needed.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices in recruiting, and industry insights to share with students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Program management:


  • Advise employers on recruiting strategies, policies and guidelines.
  • Generate reports and analysis of recruiting activity upon request.
  • Contribute to data collection and reporting for career outcomes and assessment. Develop recommendations for consideration and approval.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of Handshake, Clark's online career opportunity and event management platform, as it relates to employer engagement and analytics, and event management for recruiting programs and activities.
  • Contribute to the design, creation and maintenance of print and online employer/partner resources.


Career Adviser


  • Working primarily with students enrolled in design and technology related majors, including the Interactive Media Design degree program, provide undergraduate students with guidance and information regarding career exploration, options and decision-making, goal setting, and job searching. Serve as the overflow career adviser for STEM students as time allows.
  • Meet with students one-on-one and in-group settings to assist with resume preparation, interviewing skills, and other skill development as needed. Organize portfolio reviews for students.
  • Design and launch recurring workshops, both foundational in career readiness and tailored to targeted student populations, such as students enrolled in the Becker School of Design and Technology at Clark.
  • Contribute to the design, creation and maintenance of on-demand career readiness resources for students and faculty, including content for newsletters, webpages, printed materials, and other media.
  • Expand opportunities for a diverse group of students, including but not limited to: first generation students, students of color, LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities, etc.
  • Maintain student files and records.
  • Attend and participate in all relevant Career Connections Center staff meetings and trainings.
  • Provide data and information for reports when appropriate, and develop recommendations for consideration and approval.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in college recruiting, from either a higher education or a private sector setting, or a related field like human resources or counseling.
  • Familiarity with academic advising, career advising, and/or student development theories a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in event management and program development.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and an ability to guide diverse individuals toward future opportunities.
  • Strong oral and professional communication skills, demonstrated abilities in interpersonal relations, presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and problem-solve within a fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff as well as members of the Clark community.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience in leveraging technology to deliver programming, and familiarity with web based recruitment tools and resources such as LinkedIn.
  • Appropriately manages confidential information and sensitive situations.
  • Prior experience with database-related software and/or demonstrated ability to learn and use new software.
  • Available to work some nights and weekends.
  • Occasional independent travel is required.
