Overview
A Research Specialist position is available in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute at Princeton University. The Falkner lab (https://www.falknerlab.com/) focuses on neural circuit dynamics in subcortical circuits during social behavior. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including routine animals care (e.g. assist lab members with mouse breeding) and work with the researchers to design and perform experiments. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-working individual. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal contingent upon funding availability and performance.
Responsibilities
- perform general lab maintenance duties
- manage mouse colony
- assist researchers with experiments and data analysis
- other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in Neuroscience or related field
- Excellent organizational skills
- Outstanding references
- Experience with advanced techniques in neuroscience, including animal behavior
- Experience with methods in computational neuroscience
- Proficient with programming in Python and/or Matlab
- 1 year minimum of laboratory experience pre- or post-baccalaureate
- Experience with animal husbandry (rodents)
