Responsibilities

Responsible for designing, developing, and facilitating the use of visual or electronic media. These include, but are not limited to, digital media, social media, direct mail, flyers, and brochures. Creates artwork for digital and/or print communications, develops content, and photography as requested by the College. Works with key partners in the College to determine communication needs (e.g., student recruitment). Develops communication plans and goals to determine effectiveness.

Works independently to design, maintain, and improve the College of Health and Human Sciences website. Actively seeks information from the departments, faculty, and students to keep the website up-to-date. Develops content for the website including, but not limited to, faculty and staff profiles, alumni updates, student accomplishments, and grant award information. Uses Google Analytics to track website traffic and SEO; provide monthly reports on website performance.

Strategically manages, plans, creates, and executes College of Health and Human Sciences events for faculty, staff, students, guests, and external personnel. Maintains the College's events calendar. Events inlcude, but are not limited to, annual Honors and Awards Ceremony, Dean's Advisory Council meetings, retired faculty events, alumni and donor events, seminars, lectures, and speaker series. Responsible for working with vendors to obtain quotes, and to develop budgets for each event.

Assists the Director of Development with alumni relations including, but not limited to, monthly reports, collateral for prospect and donor meetings, quarterly e-newsletter, database management, university-wide projects, annual giving campaigns, and donor engagement.

Develops and maintains relationships with other Florida State University departments such as University Relations, the FSU Alumni Association, the FSU Foundation, and the Career Center in order to collaborate on news, events, and programs.

Supervise OPS personnel including, but not limited to, FSU Interns, Federal Work Study students, and Tallahassee Future Leaders Academic students. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and four years of experience or a high school diploma/equivalency and eight years of experience.
  • Knowledge of current media technology and trends, marketing research techniques and tools, and public relations practices to develop and execute strategic marketing for programs/events.
  • Experience developing print and/or electronic marketing materials.
  • Basic experience with web design and layout/design of promotional materials for marketing projects.
