General Summary

The Graduate Assistant will work directly with Dr. McCallum and her team on several different research and evaluation projects. The Graduate Assistant must have excellent organizational skills and work well with others. The assistant will be responsible for:

• Assisting with planning and conducting mentoring workshops
• Participating in research team meetings
• Conducting literature reviews
• Recruiting and/or interviewing study participants

• Maintaining accurate records of interviews
• Providing ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and/or supervisor
• Coordinating ZOOM meetings and facilitating breakout rooms
• Managing and responding to project related email
• Attending area seminars and other meetings as necessary
• Summarizing project results
• Preparing progress reports for the PI and funding agencies
• Preparing articles, reports, and presentations
• Research-based travel (funded by the grant)

• Prepares materials for HSRB (Human Research Subjects Board) review

• Performing other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Must be a full-time graduate student at EMU. Must be interested in issues of diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty, staff, community partners and potential corporate sponsors. Must be highly motivated and be able to work independently and in a group setting. Must be comfortable with a flexible work schedule.

For a full-time GA appointment, the University provides a tuition scholarship for up to 18 credit hours in each academic year (September 1 to August 31) of the assistantship.

For graduate assistants who are appointed to part-time positions and for GAs who begin employment after the start of the semester, the number of credit hours covered by the award will be prorated.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Noncampus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
