The purpose of this position is to recruit prospective students from the Austin Community Colleges and to promote Texas State in the Austin area. The position is based on the Texas State University Round Rock Campus (RRC). The Round Rock Regional Counselor specializes in transfer recruitment but also participates in all aspects of recruitment, both in Austin and on campus.
Expected activities include but are not limited to visits to community colleges and high schools, presentations, admissions events, and communication with students, parents, and counselors.
The Round Rock Regional Counselor position requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
This position in based at the Texas State University Round Rock campus.

•Participating in ACC recruitment events, college fairs, and admissions events in Austin and on campus
•Helping students determine their readiness to attend the RRC
•Hosting tours of the RRC
•Serving as a liaison to the San Marcos campus Admissions Office and the Welcome Center
•Conducting large and small group presentations
•Collaborating with the admissions team
•Planning recruitment events
•Communicating and establishing relationships with prospective students, parents, and counselors via available media
•Preparing recruitment reports
•Reviewing admission applications and recommending decisions
•Other duties as assigned
