Executive Assistant to the VC/Dean, SOM Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 23560028 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $64,400 - $122,000 Position Information Under the direction of the Vice Chancellor and Dean of the UC Riverside School of Medicine (SOM), this position provides advanced administrative and business operations leadership and support to the VC/Dean. Requires a detailed knowledge of the organization’s operations, policies, procedures and personnel, and exceptional skills in project management and administrative best practices. Analyzes problems, determines approach, compiles and analyzes data and prepares correspondence, reports and recommendations. Organizes and staffs SOM leadership meetings, assists in the prioritization of projects and manages the VC/Dean’s calendar. Works independently to anticipate and meet business needs. As the senior administrative professional in the Dean’s office, serves as the team lead for the executive assistants within the Dean’s Office and leads communication and development activities for the group. Interfaces closely and frequently with the Dean’s Chief of Staff, the CFAO and other members of SOM and campus senior leadership. Supervises one executive assistant who is also part of the Dean’s support team. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Experience Experience Requirement Previous experience in a higher education institution providing support to a Director level and above administrator Preferred 6 - 10 years of related experience. Required
Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Occasional travel for university related business meetings, conferences and/or professional development. Required
Minimum Requirements Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
Small to mid-level project management skills.
Ability to use a high level of discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Advanced service orientation.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of common organization-specific computer applications.
Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Political acumen and sensitivities to the differing perspectives and political circumstances within all levels of the organization as well as the Office of the President and external constituencies.
Strong skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, faculty, alumni/donors, students and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications Advising and counseling skills.

Knowledge of federal regulations such as FERPA.

Advanced knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures.
