Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Associate Director of Operations and Community Engagement, Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

  • Serves as a principal associate with assigned responsibilities to the Director of the School.
  • Serves as the associate management administrator interacting with the University Community on all aspects related to school’s budget and academic operations as well as for centers and programs.
  • Assists with the department budget preparation process, from its development through implementation and reconciliation, including administrative activities and financial functions for E&G funds, Foundation accounts, Auxiliary accounts in the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work. Reconciles school accounts on a monthly basis and reports financial activity to Director and Business Managers.
  • Responsible for assigned administrative duties including academic departmental scheduling and coordination of classroom management.
  • Makes recommendations for the development of administrative practices and procedures for all programs and Centers in the school.
  • Provides support to other academic program and centers coordinators in the on-going monitoring and operation of the school ensuring compliance with University and department policy and procedures and in compliance with legally mandated provisions.
  • Has opportunities for teaching academic courses, as assigned by the Director.
  • Serves as community engagement manager for the School, including coordination of special events; supporting the alumni committee in building and maintaining relationships with BSW, MSW, DSW alumni; supporting faculty in building and maintaining relationships with field placement agencies; serving on the Community Advisory Board; managing social media and email communication with community partners. Manages community engagement-related technology processes to support organizational customer relationship culture, related to special events and community engagement activities. Includes sharing data to inform development of engagement strategies.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the Office of Professional Development, including program development, contract negotiation with facilitators and agencies, marketing, and course administration. Serves as liaison with community partners and Professional Development Advisory Board. Oversees the two certificate programs associated with Office, and manages the development of two additional certificates, include a trauma certificate and leadership certificate. Chairs School committee associated with the Office.
  • In partnership with the committee chair and College Director of Communications, coordinates all aspects of the Robin Rubin Center for Happiness and Life Enhancement, including program development, volunteer recruitment and onboarding, marketing, event administration, participation with the programming committee.
  • Cultivates relationships across diverse communities to support the Mission of the School and its associated Centers, including regularly facilitating meetings with community members and interested collaborators.
  • Evaluates programming in the various Centers, in conjunction with committee members, to assess necessary changes and inform future programming.
  • Attends school’s faculty meetings and other important academic events in the school as requested by the Director.
  • Serves as essential personnel, as needed, for special events and school related activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

MSW degree from an accredited institution and four years of appropriate work experience required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

Must also have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.

Salary:

$60,000 - $65,000
