Position Summary:

The Admissions Counselor, Transfer, Adult & Graduate Students serves as a member of the Admissions team, focusing on recruiting prospective transfer, adult, and graduate students in support of the College’s strategic plan. The Admissions Counselor, Transfer, Adult & Graduate Students represents Penn College, both on and off campus, to prospective transfer, adult, and graduate students, college/university transfer advisers and faculty, and other individuals and organizations involved in the transfer, graduate and college selection process. The individual will be responsible for developing and executing effective recruitment strategies for transfer, adult, and graduate student admission, in collaboration with the Director of Admissions.

Responsibilities and Duties :

ESSENTIAL (unless otherwise noted):
-Participate in all aspects of the College’s on-campus recruitment program.
-Develop and implement effective outreach strategies to support enrollment objectives for transfer, adult, and graduate students.
-Create and maintain strong relationships with community college advisers, community agencies, and other potential referral sources.
-Provide complete support and follow-up to prospective students via multiple modes of communication.
-Develop and implement effective strategies to manage and drive inquiries and applicants through the admissions funnel.
-Assess applications for inactivity and suggest cancellations as appropriate.
-Collaborate with offices campus-wide to provide information that students need to convert from accepted to enrolled.
-Effectively use the office’s constituent relationship management system (CRM), including ensuring data integrity and timeliness of data entry.
-Design and deliver presentations to groups of prospective students both on campus and off campus.
-Conduct tours for prospective students as needed.
-Schedule on-campus, off-campus, and virtual visitations with prospective students to inform them of admissions procedures, transfer credit, general financial aid, housing, academic programs, etc.
-Assist prospective transfer students in understanding the College’s external transcript evaluation process as it relates to specific Penn College majors.
-Conduct courtesy transcript evaluations.
-Conduct graduate application file review.
-Assist with the development and preparation of Admissions events.
-Assist with the development, implementation, and assessment of special projects and other duties as assigned.
-Manage an extensive travel schedule. This travel includes in-state and out-of-state recruitment of students.
-Collect, monitor, and interpret data to understand transfer, adult, and graduate admission, including the planning and coordination of recruitment activities. Evaluate the effectiveness of the various approaches taken and make recommendations for adjustments where appropriate.
-Develop, manage, and recommend to the Director a budget for recruitment activities for transfer, adult, and graduate students.
-Schedule and attend transfer fairs, classroom presentations, transfer adviser meetings, recruitment events tailored for underrepresented/underserved students, graduate fairs, and other recruitment based visits and events. Including appropriate correspondence prior to and following the visit or event.
-Actively support the College’s marketing initiatives.
-Participate in the Admissions Office social media activity.
-Participate in special population student orientation program planning and events.
-Maintain working knowledge of general office procedures.
-Maintain working knowledge of Admissions policies and procedures, including special admissions requirements.
-Recommend to the supervisor revisions to the Admissions policies and procedures as appropriate.
-Maintain working knowledge of all guidelines related to confidentiality of student information and records (FERPA).
-Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the College’s matriculation process beyond Admissions, to include, financial aid, placement testing, new student advising, course scheduling, bill paying, orientation, residence life, move-in, etc.
-Provide telephone and personnel coverage as-needed during in-office work hours.
-Any incumbent who has the capacity to communicate in a language other than English will help prospective and enrolled students/parents speaking such language with any aspect of the application and enrollment process. (Marginal)

Special Job Features:

*Evening and weekend work is required.
*Person may be required to use personal vehicle for visitations with mileage reimbursement at the current College rate.
*Person will be required to use their personal smart phone to perform their job duties while conducting College travel and would be eligible for an established stipend to offset the cost.
*Position requires frequent travel that may be in- or out-of-state during peak recruitment periods.
*Some nighttime driving required.
*State Police, Child Line, and FBI fingerprint clearances under the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) required before employment can begin.
*This position is subject to a background check.
