Position Summary

Provides direct nursing care to patients and assists health care provider with medical procedures.

Interviews patients and triages telephone calls in order to determine and assess patients health care needs.

Develop plan of care or refers as necessary.

Administers medication and performs patient procedures.

Serves as an advocate and provides instruction and counseling to patients and their families.

Documents nursing actions in patient record to provide accurate medical records for future reference and accountability.

Reviews lab results and initiates appropriate actions and communicates results to patients, physicians and others as appropriate.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in Nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in Nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position requires possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing and/or work experience in the care of pre and post surgical patients.

Work Hours

Work hours are typically 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., but can vary as necessary to accommodate clinic operations

Summary of Health Risks

Exposure to human blood, serum, tissue and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three (3) feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator. Covid precautions.
