Under the general direction of the Director of Communications and Public Relations in the School of Medicine and in close partnership with the UCI Health Communications and Marketing and select web/SEO vendors, the Digital Communications Manager is an integral member of the Communications team and participates in development and execution of School of Medicine goals. Initially, with vendor support, this individual will serve as the project manager for the completion of a new enterprise mobile-responsive website. Then, as the primary owner of the website, this individual ensures that the site is maintained and enhanced to serve as an up-to-date and progressive central resource in promoting the School of Medicine and Departments associated with it and attracting new students at all levels. This individual is responsible for prioritizing, facilitating the development of content and assets including securing web copy, images and video assets that properly illustrate the mission and vision of the school, and coordinating with database owners to pull content into the website. Consults with and provides outstanding customer service to all departments of the SOM to update, organize and prioritize the website with appropriate messaging in a timely manner. Develops and maintains standards for web content and graphics; establishes procedures for posting and editing; maintains the integrity of web links. Works with UCI Health Marketing/Design and IT departments as well as outside vendors to develop, configure, maintain, and optimize website performance. Performs other duties as assigned. Note: this position is primarily remote and will be discussed with the hiring manager.
