The Director of Operations, Men's Soccer reports to The Knowles Family Director of Men's Soccer and is primarily responsible for the direction and operational oversight of all Men's Soccer activities for Stanford University. The Director of Operations, Men's Soccer serves as the point person for all soccer operations.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Team Travel: responsible for travel arrangements, including hotel, transportation, rental cars and preparation of itinerary
  • Team Operations: schedule, organize, plan, and manage team meetings, meals, team parties and extra events, facilities, player pass lists etc
  • Video Operations: skills to acquire and maintain databases with practice, game, scouting, and recruiting video. A strong working knowledge with Hudl, Wyscout, Sportscode, Spiideo, and Instat to prepare and assist with all forms of video input, output, and presentations.
  • Data Analytics: assist coaches and sports performance staff with collection of performance data and analytics of student-athletes and opponents.
  • Equipment: managing and ordering.
  • Camps: Interface with the university for all areas of the camp programs. Assist with administration, marketing, curriculum, and operation of camps.
  • Budget Management: process all invoices and other purchases in accounting system; assist with budget management
  • Recruiting: manage recruiting databases, produce recruiting materials, coordinate official and unofficial visits
  • Compliance: serve as liaison between Compliance staff and Soccer staffs to assist with NCAA compliance issues
  • Marketing and Fan Experience: serve as the primary liaison between the soccer programs and the marketing and fan experience staffs to increase fan attendance, improve fan experience and enhance the game day experience for student-athletes
  • Community Outreach: in conjunction with the community relations, marketing and development staffs, create opportunities for the local community, alumni, businesses, donors, students and soccer youth players to interact with student-athletes to increase engagement and interest
  • Special Events: coordinate team banquets, alumni gatherings etc.
  • This position will be expected to travel to away competitions as needed, and a willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Background in intercollegiate athletics is highly desired
  • Demonstrated professional strengths in the areas of compliance and daily operations
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; analytical problem solver who is well adjusted in dealing with complex business issues involving a diverse group student athletes, coaches, and administrators
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task
  • Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills, and an ability to write professionally
  • Candidate should be well versed in all relevant new technologies, innovations, and applications.
