Job Summary

Provide specialized administrative support services within the Legal Affairs office to include conducting legal related research, opening files, records management, document preparation and coordination of general office services. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Institute attorneys and legal support staff, office visitors and callers, external counsel and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: legal support staff. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Prepare legal documents to include various type agreements, complaints and contracts.

Job Duty 2 -
Assist attorneys in conducting legal research.

Job Duty 3 -
Maintain filing system.

Job Duty 4 -
Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding Legal Affairs office related procedures and processes.

Job Duty 5 -
Greet and refer office visitors.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Three to four years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Paralegal certification. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Powerpoint, to create presentations, flowcharts, infographics, etc. is preferred. Light graphic design experience is a plus.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of legal office administration, preparation of legal documents and legal research methodology and familiarity with Georgia law and requirements relating to state entities. Skills in communication, organization, problem solving are required as is use of office and specialized computer applications.
