Job Summary
Utilizes basic IT knowledge to analyze, design, program, debug, test, modify, and write documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance of technology-related products, Internet applications, or information support systems. routine issues or issues of a limited scope. This position should result in developing good work habits, learning accountability and responsibility, taking pride in work outcome, leadership development and specific experiences which supplement training in the student's overall academic experience.
Job Responsibilities
Provide campus users technical support and maintenance of computer both hardware, software and first level networking issues on campus.
Performs hands-on fixes, including software/hardware install and upgrade, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports
Access and install appropriate upgrades, patches, drivers, etc and correct system errors to maintain system after and during implementation.
Ability to install, configure and place Windows and Apple-based platforms and associated hardware devices including but not limited to printers, copiers and scanners.
Assist with moving/transferring all computer or electronic related equipment for the purpose of transferring to a different department, surplus or disposal.
Skills/Experience
knowledge of MySQL, MS SQL Database software
Basic Computer Languages Development software; All standard browsers Internet software; Standard
Spreadsheet software and Standard Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: The following certifications are required: A+, Network+ preferred
Other Skills and Abilities: Actively pursuing Linux, Windows, MySQL, and Cisco Administration
