About the Department:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) has 54 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, over 900 undergraduate students, and over 800 graduate students. It offers BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Engineering (CPE), and MS degrees in Computer Networking and Electric Power Systems. The department is located in state-of-the-art facilities on NC State’s new Centennial Campus.

Essential Job Duties:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is accepting applications for the position(s) of Lecturer (part-time), Teaching Assistant Professor (part-time), Teaching Associate Professor (part-time), and Teaching Professor (part-time).
Lecturer/Teaching Assistant/Associate/Professor will teach one to two courses per semester in the ECE curricula. The positions are one-semester or one-year, non-tenure-track appointments with possibility of renewal.
Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in the areas of: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking. These positions involve the teaching either face-to-face or online undergraduate or graduate level courses in a given area. It requires continuous communication with the students enrolled in the class, as well as monitoring student progress.

Other Responsibilities:

• Creating and presenting course materials to students
• Grading assignments, providing written feedback to students in a timely fashion, and determining final course grade
• Meeting with Program Coordinator or Department Head regarding instruction if needed
• Other duties that relate to the course(s) taught

Minimum Education and Experience:

Minimum of Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field for Lecturer.

PhD degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field required for Teaching Assistant/Associate/Professor.

Other Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching of undergraduate and graduate course(s). Expertise in course(s) topics required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in teaching at the university level may be preferred depending on the course(s) topic.
