Job Details:Assistant Director of Residency
Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the Assistant Director of Residency. This position serves as the primary residency officer for the determination of in-state residency for tuition and fee purposes and reports to the Director of Merit Awards, Compliance and Residency within the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards.
Duties include, but are not limited to: manage all aspects of the South Carolina domiciliary application process, including citizenship and immigration status verification for all students, including undergraduate and graduate and new and continuing students; advise, counsel, and meet with University constituents regarding South Carolina residency regulations, University policies, and residency application procedures; maintain the accuracy of CCU’s South Carolina Residency web pages to provide current and accurate information, including links to regulatory requirements, CCU policies, and form; actively monitor and promptly respond to internal office communication via Microsoft Teams, assists walk-ins, manages the main residency phone line and residency email inbox and workflow, which requires extensive communication via inbound and outbound emails, phone calls, and in-person interactions; complete daily audits to verify and communicate residency changes to campus partners, such as Financial Aid & Scholarships, Office of Student Accounts, and Office of Veteran Services to ensure proper billing and financial aid packaging; directly supervise the Residency Coordinator (Student Services Coordinator I); and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and related experience are required. Two (2) years of related experience and prior higher education, residency determination or tax preparation experience are preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to use an admissions student information system and basic computer software, specifically Excel and Word, to update and carry out the details of residency determination activities. Ability to analyze admissions documents and process applications, perform detailed work, and handle students’ confidential matters. Ability to comprehend and apply regulations and policies in decision making. Must be a team player and able to work in a multi-task environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, as this position requires considerable phone and email contact with students. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with professional staff across the University.
