Department Summary:

The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas, distinguished as one of the few Tier One research universities designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities, and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, and urban design. We have seven academic departments with undergraduate and graduate programs, the Center for Public Management, the UNT Speech and Hearing Center, the UNT Work Inclusion and Supported Employment (UNTWISE) program, and a number of professional development and clinical training programs to facilitate careers to address a global society.
HPS students are trained to lead nonprofits, become educators, researchers and professionals who strengthen the diverse communities we serve, with thoughtful, inclusive, and equitable practices as audiologists, behavior analysts, city managers, emergency managers, health care administrators, public safety administrators, public health specialists, rehabilitation counselors, speech language pathologists, social workers, urban planners, and more.
UNTWISE is the premier training and consultancy group for programs seeking to enhance employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities. We conduct training, host conferences and provide technical assistance to community rehabilitation programs (CRP) and organizations serving individuals with disabilities. UNTWISE provides more than 100 training events, serving more than 2,300 individuals, annually.
We’re looking for a Senior Program Project Coordinator to join us and the HPS family.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for oversight of a program/project. Duties may include program planning and development, grant writing, budget allocation and monitoring, and oversight of program/project activities including: program marketing, program/curriculum development, assessment, and community outreach. This role may be responsible for supervision of a team on an ongoing or project basis.

Responsibilities of this position are to plan, coordinate, develop and market employment and pre-employment training in compliance with University and funding guidelines and regulation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and four years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to adapt to program/project and incorporate creativity and originality

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field
Experience as an employment service specialist with State VR
State VR Employment certifications through UNT WISE

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility for events and other occurrences.

The primary role of this position is to act as an instructor for the CRP Training Credential project maintained by UNT WISE for Texas Workforce Commission-Vocational Rehabilitation. Professional Training: a. Provide training for rehabilitation personnel, consumers with disabilities and rehabilitation stakeholders within specified timeframes and in designated format (online, in-person, webinar, etc). b. Plan, develop and produce course/training material in conjunction with other staff which is specific to the project and could including: CRP training, the employment of persons with disabilities, Job Placement, Supported Employment, etc. as needed per contract/grant/director requirements. c. Serve as information resource on current best practices in areas related to employment for people with disabilities on various projects as needed; SME areas to include: TWC-VR Job Placement services, customer assessment, job analysis, job development, job matching, job coaching, resume building, Supported Employment, and Employment First. d. Facilitate CRP Credentialing courses per TWC-VR contract guidelines and UNT WISE program guidelines. e. Provide feedback and technical assistance to rehabilitation training participants to facilitate learning & understanding adhering to the passing rate/standard as established by contractual agreement as stated by the contract/grant/director. f. Ensure training is accessible, reasonable accommodations are provided and materials are available in alternative formats for all projects as evidenced by peer or director review.

Administrative Tasks: a. Disseminate information about UNT WISE programming at conferences, community events, etc. b. Maintain technical components of CRP contract which include but are not limited to: Monitoring TWC-VR website for updates and changes, Sending provider alerts, and hosting CE webinars.

Special Projects: Plan, organize and participate in special projects as assigned by Director. Cross train in additional UNT WISE programming to provide support as needed.
