The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Director at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing is responsible for the strategic implementation of the DNP Program in its academic mission, and for monitoring and ensuring program goals and outcomes are achieved:

General responsibilities include:
  • Oversee the DNP program including curriculum design, implementation and evaluation; clinical placements; faculty development, evaluation and teaching assignments.
  • Partner with the Office of Academic Affairs in program accreditation, licensure and regulatory standards; student admission, progression, retention, and graduation.
  • Facilitate inter-program communication, synergies, and efficiencies across DNP program tracks.
  • Monitor trends in DNP education and practice and provide leadership for DNP track development and refinement.
  • Monitor and promote continuous quality improvement/internal standards of all DNP tracks.
  • Mentor DNP track directors to assure the highest quality education for students.
  • Provide leadership in development of DNP accreditation and regulatory reports.
  • Develop long- and short-term student admission and retention strategies in collaboration with the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Works with the administrative team in promoting state-wide and national recognition for the DNP program.
  • Communicate programmatic needs with the Chair of the Department of Biobehavioral Health Sciences and the Associate Dean for Academic Programs.
