With an enrollment of over 1000 students, The Kennesaw State University School of Art and Design provides a rigorous education, offering a BFA degree in Art (concentrations in Art Education, Art History, Ceramics, Graphic Communications, Illustration, Painting and Drawing, Photography, Printmaking, Sequential Art, or Sculpture), a BFA in Digital Animation, and a BAT in Apparel Textiles Technology.
Our facilities provide students with state-of-the-art resources. The new space located at Chastain Pointe houses four large drawing and painting studios and an expansive printmaking area. 5 computer studios in the Visual Arts Building provide industry standard technology for our applied arts disciplines of Graphic Communications, Digital Animation, Illustration and Sequential Art. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a Limited Term Assistant Professor of Art History faculty position. Responsibilities
- Teach 4 classes per semester, primarily introductory global art history survey courses: Survey of Ancient-Medieval Art, and Survey of Renaissance-Modern Art.
- Duties may also include art appreciation courses in General Education.
- Classes may be on either of the university's campuses in Kennesaw and Marietta.
- Some early evening classes may also be included.
- PhD in art history, or its foreign eqivalent is required
- Some teaching experience
Licenses, certifications, or professional memberships Specific experiences or skills (e.g., prior teaching, familiarity with specific techniques) Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses Record of past teaching at a particular level (e.g., graduate vs. undergraduate) or area (sub-discipline) Post-doc experience Experience in a clinical practice University teaching experience in the following courses: Survey of Ancient-Medieval Art, and Survey of Renaissance-Modern Art Interest in working with studio art majors as well as art history students.
