Provides personal, equipment and real property security for faculty, staff, students and visitors within an assigned area of the University campus and community. Performs routine patrols to assist in providing a safer campus environment. Responsible for warning violators of rule infractions and assists with traffic and parking violations. Serves as a Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). Responsibilities
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements
- Performs active and routine patrols (foot, bicycle or vehicle) of all campus areas according to established guidelines
- Provides regular surveillance of campus properties, including locking and unlocking buildings according to designated schedules
- Enforces University rules and regulations
- Assists with traffic and parking violations
- Serves as a knowledgeable resource to students, staff and visitors providing directions and current campus event information
- Creates written reports and other documentation as necessary (i.e. patrol logs, incident reports, parking surveys, etc.)
- Provides outreach to campus community and establishes relationships with students, faculty and staff in order to foster trust with public safety
- Pursues additional knowledge, training and skills relating to job performance
- Works with team to cross promote programs as applicable
