Administrative Specialist II  - Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Regular, Full-time, Market Range 04

Position Summary:

This position assists the Center for Electric Power and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Governor's Chair Professor by performing numerous tasks. Primary responsibilities include tracking sponsored project spending (i.e. keeping Governor's Chair Professor informed if we are in forecast surplus or deficit); organizing research travel for Governor's Chair Professor and members of the group and assisting with travel reimbursement; publications and supplies reimbursement; assisting with Visa application documents needed for students and scholars; assisting with letters of recommendations maintenance of Governor's Chair's Professor CV and assist in preparation of various Annual Reports.  Another key function is industry coordinator for Center for Electric Power. This includes but not limited to track industry membership, invoicing, and membership payment.

  • Ability to learn and use a variety of software systems
  • Ability to keep issues confidential
  • Valid TN driver’s license
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Proficient skills in the following systems:  IRIS; Google Forms; Adobe Acrobat Pro; Concur; Cayuse



Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED

High School diploma or GED; and

1-3 years of office experience

PREFERRED

Bachelor’s degree in business related field

Experience in higher education

CAP certification

Candidate must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings.
