The University of Virginia seeks a Senior Finance Generalist to join the Department of Family Medicine. The Department of Family Medicine is active in clinical care, education, research, and academic administration. We provide clinical care for individuals and families across the lifespan as well as providing primary care focused on special populations, including immigrants and transgender patients. Our physicians and APPs practice at 5 outpatient clinics regional to Charlottesville, as well as caring for our patients during admission. Our three-year Family Medicine residency program graduates 8 residents per year. In addition to our residents, we also educate clerkship students, med students, and manage two postdoctoral fellowships. The Family Medicine research portfolio is actively expanding along with our research infrastructure in areas such as cancer prevention and outcomes, SIDS, refugee health care, and evidenced based medicine. The Senior Finance Generalist ensure and evaluate compliance and accountability of financial programs and business operations/processes. Tasks may include, but need not be limited to: account reconciliation, labor distribution, purchasing, grants administration, technical report writing, monitoring and/or reconciling fiscal actions, cash deposits, digital asset management, P-Card purchases, event planning, salary incentive processing, maintaining records, analyzing data, preparing financial reports, and developing budget forecasts. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in accounting and payroll systems and who are interested in learning about administration in academic medical centers.
Performs work requiring analysis of data and application of applicable professional principles and standards.
Applies knowledge of accounting functions or principles, general business practices, collection procedures, and/or applicable computer systems.
Requires knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to research, investigate, analyze, reconcile, and evaluate data.
Interacts frequently with internal and external customers using both verbal and written communication skills to discuss financial processes or issues.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with three years of experience is required.
This position will remain open until filled. This is an Exempt level, benefited position. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. Anticipated Hiring Range: $60,000-$74,000 commensurate with education and experience. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.
