Job SummaryThe University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Student Worker in Residence Life. The Office of Residence Life operates the five residence halls on the Dahlonega campus and works to create a safe community environment among the 2000+ residents who live there. The student worker position would work closely with the Office Administrator and professional staff on daily operational tasks. This is a front line person, often being the first person who comes into contact with students/parents.
Responsibilities- Must be available for Summer hours, for entirety of Move-In Weeks in August and July, and RA Selection Weekend.
- Assist students, parents, faculty, and staff that enter call, and/or email the office.
- Assist the Director, Assistant Director, Office Administrator, and Housing Coordinator with daily operational tasks that include (but are not limited to) answering phones, running errands, hang posters in the Residence halls, filing documents, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong phone skills required.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- High attention to detail
- Self-management
- General knowledge about the residence halls on campus
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs required.
- Preferred experience with UNG Banner.
- Preferred experience living on-campus at UNG or another institution
