Position: Assistant Baseball Coach I (part-time) Location: Wheaton, IL
Job Id: 670 # of Openings: 1 Assistant Baseball Coach Job OverviewServe as the Assistant Baseball Coach. This positing reports to the Head Baseball Coach. The successful candidate will operate with a committed understanding that in the pursuit of athletic excellence we also seek to develop students for Christian life and service. This hours for this position are 24 hours/week for 12 months/year. Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist the head coach in managing and supporting all aspects of the baseball program
  2. Comply with the mission and vision of Wheaton College; adhere to all College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and NCAA rules and regulations
  3. Assist the head coach in all aspects related to recruiting, selecting, and retaining a minimum of 35-40 team members that reflect the profile of Wheaton College students
  4. Monitor team standards
  5. Assist the head coach in practice planning and conducting to prepare team for competition
  6. Travel with team
    Assist the head coach in providing Christian discipleship to current student-athletes
  1. Encourage and develop personal relationships with student-athletes
  2. Encourage a holistic environment for the well-being of student-athletes
    Assist the head coach in administrative duties as needed
This job description is intended to represent key areas of responsibilities; specific assignments may vary from time to time depending on the operational needs of the department. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • 3-5 years collegiate playing experience;
  • Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes on and off of the baseball field;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • A commitment to the values of NCAA Division III athletics and Christ-centered education;
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Competency in MSOffice computer programs
Physical RequirementsThe person in this position must be able to drive/transport athletes; set up and take down baseball equipment; and the ability to lift, move, and carry up to 25lbs.
