Job Description UMKC’s Office of Admissions is seeking a self-motivated Communications Coordinator, known for their ability to build strong professional relationships and work collaboratively in a team. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Customer Relationship Management Operations, duties include, but are not limited to:

    Coordinating communication plan development and execution for the Office of Admissions, working closely with our Marketing and Communications unit.Coordinating communication initiatives with academic units and campus partners focused on recruiting undergraduate and graduate students from diverse populations.Writing, editing, and proof-reading communication prioritizing use of the University's brand.Training academic units and campus partners to use Slate for communications/recruitment purposes.Maintaining accurate reports on communication efforts to inquiries, applicants, and admitted students.Researching market trends and competitors, and stay up to date on current web, email, social media, print and viral marketing trends.Developing technical skills, in particular Liquid Markup and HTML, which are fundamental to fully utilize Slate functionality.Creating and maintaining HTML based portals in Slate.Managing specialized social media graduate student assistant.Supporting the Assistant Director with management of student staff.Acting as a professional representative of the university and maintaining an up-to-date working knowledge of University programs and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
    Two years of experience in Admissions, Higher Education, Strategic Communications, or MarketingDemonstrate excellent written communication skills.Experience with developing HTML email templates and familiarity with HTML web design.Knowledge of student recruitment and admissions practices.Experience with Slate and/or other CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems.Developed aptitude for technology Successful experience working in an environment that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to managing concurrent projects, and the ability to work independently. Use data, trends, best practices, and market research to develop communication strategies.

Salary

$16.92 - $19.23/hour, commensurate with education and experience.
