Social Media Marketing Manager - Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies

We're seeking a savvy Social Media Marketing Manager to advance our student recruitment efforts and build the reputation of our School and its diverse programs. Reporting to the Senior Content Strategist, this key marketing position is responsible for managing and growing our social media communities and presence while adhering to our brand standards and tone of voice across all of our platforms. The position will serve as the subject matter expert and lead on social media strategy, content planning and creative storytelling, including all activities related to organic social media, paid social media and native advertising, and the School-wide social strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Social Media Management & Content Creation (Organic)
  • Manage all organic social media efforts on behalf of SCS
  • Plan, monitor, strengthen, and maintain presence on @GeorgetownSCS channels across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube through the management of organic posting, scheduling, and engagement
  • Proactively lead social media content planning for SCS, including content creation, asset development, and copy/messaging
  • Manage and refine SCS tone of voice, brand identity/consistency, and uphold the standards of Georgetown's Editorial Style Guide and Visual Identity
  • Review and analyze data across platforms; use performance metrics to formulate strategies that build awareness and increase engagement
  • Develop and manage social video strategy in partnership with digital and production teams


Social Media Management (Paid & Native)
  • Lead and manage paid social media and native advertising strategies
  • Develop content and creative direction for all paid social and native ads, including copy/messaging, imagery, targeting, and more
  • Analyze bi-monthly paid social media and native advertising reports to pull insights and make strategic recommendations
  • Liaise with the Marketing team, other internal SCS teams, external agency partners, and social platform representatives


Channel Oversight, Management, & Strategy
  • Oversee and offer strategic training and recommendations for all program-level social media accounts and managers
  • Create school-wide social campaigns and distribute related assets through social managers
  • Serve as the social media expert for program staff, staying on top of platform changes, best practices, and new trends


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of digital/social media marketing or communications experience
  • Familiarity with social media marketing best practices and platforms, including analytics (e.g., Facebook/IG, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, YouTube, Hootsuite, Mish Guru)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with superior attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize projects and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Adept at executing projects on time and within a given budget
  • Ability to think creatively and tap into consumer mindsets to deliver value for audiences
  • Skilled relationship-builder and collaborator, with extraordinary customer service skills


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in higher education or related field
  • Fluency in Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator, Canva, and video editing
  • Prior experience managing a brand's social media presence
