Under general supervision, the Program Specialist will provide varied administrative support to the Assistant Director of Tyler Pre-College Programs & Continuing Education at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University.

The Program Specialist will serve as the first line of contact, answering all program inquiries by phone and email. The Program Specialist will track and process all Pre-College & Continuing Education program enrollments through the Destiny One CRM system. Managing program enrollments includes: registering students into programs/classes in Destiny One, processing checks and credit card payments and invoicing students, keeping the enrollment database up-to-date, maintaining medical information forms, and handling any correspondence with the students regarding their enrollment. The Program Specialist will manage all pre-college student financial aid requests and applications, as well as all enrollments for pre-college students who will be attending Tyler programs with financial aid assistance from outside community-based organizations.

The Program Specialist will be responsible for submitting applications for all adult Continuing Education workshops to be approved for Act 48 Credit Hours.

The incumbent will oversee the department student worker schedule and training of new student workers. They will be responsible for scheduling figure models, managing studio set-up and clean-up, and assembling paperwork for program instructors such as attendance sheets/syllabi. They will assist in first-day logistics for each program, and provide the support needed for pre-college and adult programs to run smoothly. They will attend off-site pre-college recruitment events, develop and host online pre-college info sessions. The Program Assistant will update the department website, handle all social networking efforts, generate Constant Contact email blasts, and assist in compiling data related to program development decisions. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in higher education. Demonstrated familiarity with continuing education, pre-college, or other non-credit programs, preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff. 

*Excellent communication skills, and understanding of proper phone etiquette.

*Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and knowledge of effective office practices.

*Strong writing skills and a high degree of proficiency in the use of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation.  

*Ability to use initiative and sound judgment in the performance of duties.

*Ability to work occasional weekends when Pre-College & Continuing Education classes or on-campus events are in session.

* Ability to travel to recruitment events and operate a vehicle.

*Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

*Demonstrated familiarity with continuing education, pre-college, or other non-credit programs.

*Experience in the art field.
