Job Summary: The Special Assistant to the President for Institutional Excellence is a twelve-month, Cabinet level, administrative, executive position reporting to the President, and located in the Office of President.

Rationale: As a new Level 5 SACSCOC institution, and now with strong academic and fiscal foundations, MGA needs a cross­divisional executive staff officer to monitor, advise, guide, collaborate and lead initiatives to sustain institutional excellence across the campuses and the University.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure and lead cross-divisional institutional focus on strategic priorities;
• Sustain, collaborate and advise on quality processes and outcomes of institutional importance, both administratively and academically, and educate the campus community on quality efforts;
• Ensure institutional commitment and planning for accreditation success, both at SACSCOC level and in support of academic accreditation in specific disciplines;
• Coordinate the implementation and evaluation of the institution's strategic plan, in consultation with Academic Affairs, and serve as ex-officio to the Strategic Planning Committee;
• Develop initiatives to strengthen mission alignment, best current practices and performance accountability across MGA's campuses;
• Support campus coordination both academically and administratively, to strengthen institutional excellence, mission and identity and ensure strength of individual campuses;
• Collaborate with the Office of I.R. and the Data Governance Committee to enhance campus-wide understanding and use of key data in support of quality and excellence across units;
• Advise supervisors across campuses and divisions on strengthening quality practices;
• Advise the President on institutional vision, strategy and priorities for the next decade.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree as a minimum, terminal degree preferred;
• Minimum of seven years academic or administrative full-time employment at MGA, with a proven track record of quality and excellence in outcomes
• If faculty, then tenured with rank of Associate Professor or higher, and a proven track record of successful administrative leadership
• If staff, then senior staff status with a proven track record of executive oversight responsibilities and successes
• Proven understanding of the complex relationships essential to a multi-campus University.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, and benchmarked according to new CVIG scale for executive administrative positions.
