OHIO NORTHERN UNIVERSITY

PRESIDENT

The Board of Trustees of Ohio Northern University invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for an innovative leader to serve as the 12th president. The Board seeks an inspirational, collaborative, and decisive leader to build on ONU's 150-year legacy of academic excellence and achievement and develop an ambitious plan to propel the institution to future success. The new president is expected to assume office in Summer 2022.

About ONU: Founded in 1871, Ohio Northern University has an enrollment of approximately 2,800 graduate and undergraduate students on its attractive 342-acre campus in rural Northwest Ohio. ONU is organized into five colleges – arts and sciences, business, engineering, law, and pharmacy – that offer more than 60 programs of study. The distinctive academic program includes mutually supportive liberal arts and professional education components that integrate practice with theory, complemented by excellent co-curricular offerings that enrich the ONU experience. The University has been recognized for teaching quality, high graduation and placement rates, commitment to volunteer service, and providing a high return on investment for graduates. The next president has the opportunity to capitalize on an institution with a strong standing and reputation and a dedicated University community.

About the position: Ohio Northern University's next president will be a bold collaborator and dynamic leader with a distinguished record of successful leadership in a complex organization. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the role of higher education in an increasingly competitive landscape while valuing the heritage and values of ONU. The president will be responsible for engaging and uniting the campus community in developing an innovative vision and strategy for the institution; building a sustainable financial model that maintains and enhances ONU's high-quality academic programs; growing the institutions' annual fund and endowment; embracing and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion; creating the conditions for a strong campus community; supporting and advocating for the use of novel and innovative teaching, technologies, and learning modalities; and cultivating meaningful partnerships to advance the mission and academic goals of ONU.

For full consideration, applications should be submitted by September 20, 2021.

Founded in 1871, Ohio Northern University is a selective, private, comprehensive university, comprising five colleges (Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, Pharmacy and Law) with nationally ranked arts, sciences and professional programs. ONU champions the pursuit of True North. Evidence of Excellence
Ohio Northern’s reputation for excellence continues to grow. In just the last few months, ONU has received recognition for teaching quality, high graduation rates, commitment to volunteer service and, most impressively, providing a high return on investment (ROI) to its graduates.

Location
Our scenic, safe and modern campus rests on nearly 342 acres in the village of Ada, Ohio (population 5,582). Our location provides a quaint small town atmosphere that complements the friendly environment found on campus, while still offering some of the finest restaurants, shopping and culture the midwest has to offer just a short drive away. Located in northwest Ohio, Ada is 69 miles from Toledo, Ohio, to the north, 80 miles from Columbus, Ohio, to the south and 15 miles to Lima, Ohio to the west.

Research
Don't wait for graduate school to get involved with cutting-edge research. At ONU, undergraduate research is a pillar upon which future success is built. Our students partner with faculty on research that expands the horizons of human understanding, and our annual Student Research Colloquium is a showcase that attracts researchers from across the country.

Arts and Culture
Whether students see world-class entertainment at the Freed Center, attend art exhibits at the Elzay Gallery of Art or cheer along with the marching band, Ohio Northern University is a cultural epicenter for theater, art and design, music and dance.ohio_northern_university3.jpg
