JOB SUMMARY:  Will teach certificate level Agriculture courses that include common industry production practices such as sustainable agriculture, hydroponics, permaculture, food plot design, small-scale agri-business planning, irrigation, and greenhouse production. Class responsibilities include but are not limited to: lecture and lab instruction, monitoring student progress, supervise student projects, curriculum development, attendance, and other specific duties that support student learning and college mission and vision. Instructor will be teaching 15 to 20 inmate/students, at the Arizona State Prison. Position is full time - 12 months per year.

QUALIFICATIONS:   The knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Minimum Qualifications:  Five years of full-time directly related occupational experience and possession of or willingness to obtain certification and/or license, or other credentials accepted by industry specific trade and/or state of employment.
  • Special Position Condition: Applicant must be able to pass and maintain Arizona Department of Corrections security and drug clearance.

SALARY:   Entry salary is $58,734.00.  Placement above the minimum may be considered up to $69,438 dependent upon education and experience.

Copies of transcripts should reflect completed course work and conferred certificates and/or degrees. All academic course work and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited course work by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation, will not be considered.
