Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:45 pm

Job Summary: The Research Compliance Analyst is responsible for pre-review and tracking of new research protocols, amendments and continuing reviews of existing research protocols, and adverse event reports. Provides guidance to PIs and Research Staff regarding federal and state law and program requirements, as well as the ethical and business policies of the University.

Additional Department Summary: Responsible for assisting the Research Compliance Officer in the oversight and monitoring of the research compliance program. Provides assistance in the development and interpretation of policies and procedures relating to research compliance, including the use of human beings in research, use of animals in research, misconduct in science, biosafety, and misconduct in science. Coordinates and communicates on the implementation and progress of the research compliance training program and proposes changes to the training program in response to the changing needs of the organization. Oversees the Research Compliance web site and training program. Data entry and maintenance of the various research compliance database programs and filing systems.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in healthcare, higher education administration, research, compliance, or regulatory positions.

Skills and Knowledge: Working knowledge of computer application packages, extensive interpersonal and communication skills, and an extremely effective capacity for time management dealing with constant and recurring deadlines. Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with interpretation of federal and state regulations, report writing and administration of issues involving Human Subjects, Animal Subjects, and Biosafety.
