Description

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean/Instructional Manager, the instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students within the assigned and approved instructional delivery system and in accordance with the mission, goals, policies and procedures of the District. The instructor is responsible for providing an active learning environment to enable students to demonstrate course competencies, and creating a student learning centered environment that places learning at the center of educational experiences. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

  • Develop and maintain course curriculum. Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.
  • Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.
  • Assess student attainment of learning outcomes, at the course, program and college level.
  • Collect, analyze and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.
  • Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain college learning resources and equipment.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain occupational competency.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    1. Employed in the skilled trades for a minimum of 7 years
    2. Twenty-four months (4000 hours) of verifiable occupational experience; Occupational area, of which 2,000 hours shall be within the previous five years. One year (2000 hours) of related experience in the appropriate field may be waived if the occupational instructor has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the occupational field within the last five years.
    3. Electrician Apprenticeship required; Master's Electrician licensed preferred
    4. Previous teaching experience desirable

    The Instructor-Industrial Electrician Apprenticeship supports the School of Applied Technologies and is available on or before July 1, 2021.

    Hours
    This position is a full-time, 40 hours/per week position and is on a flexible calendar year; hours and times may vary depending on courses being taught

    Salary
    Salary is listed to the midpoint of the range at the 2020/2021 rates. Salary will be determined based on experience and internal equity
