Professional Research Assistant

Nature of Work:The Department of Bioengineering at UC Denver Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora is seeking nominations and applications for the position of Professional Research Assistant in Professor Keith Neeves’ lab. Examples of Duties Performed:- The successful candidate will fabricate and test microfluidic models of bleeding and thrombosis and aid in laboratory management including procurement, protocol development, and safety.
- The candidate will assist with collection of whole blood, isolation of blood cells from whole blood.
- Design, fabrication, and testing of microfluidic models of hemostasis and thrombosis.
- Fluorescent and confocal microscopy within microfluidic models.
- Image and data analysis
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications, Education/Experience/Skills: B.S in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Biology/Life SciencesApplicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Desired Qualifications:
- Experience fabricating microfluidic devices
- Experience with fluorescence microscopy
- Experience with blood handling and blood cell isolation
- Excellent communications skills.
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently and in groups.
