Network and Security Administrator Network and Security Administrator Network and Security Administrator Network and Security Administrator Coe College seeks qualified candidates for the position of Network and Security Admiistrator. This position serves as the network administrator for the college and provides support for the network and hardware functions of the Office of Information Technology. This position works closely with other IT team members on a variety of projects and tickets related to wifi, classroom technology, faculty/staff devices, student devices, printers and other network and hardware related needs. This position provides direct and indirect technology support and training to students, faculty and staff. In addition, the network and security administrator provides guidance and management of the cybersecurity and information security functions of the college. Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Administer college network systems.
  • Design, implement, maintain and support the college’s network infrastructure including a large wireless environment and firewall system.
  • Manage single sign on and active directory.
  • Assist in the selection of vendors and products for network hardware, software and services.
  • Provide campus-wide technology support through an on-call duty rotation.
  • Assist in developing, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures regarding software and hardware, reporting, database access, license compliance, backups, system security, project plans and status reports.
  • Advise on systems issues and budget and goal planning.
  • Assist with development, implementation and maintenance of the campus-wide technology goals.
  • Stay informed of all cybersecurity related compliance and advise on best practices while ensuring the college’s technological environment is secure.
  • Create and maintain documentation for all assigned tasks.
  • Manage domain names and security certificates.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in an information technology-related field.
  • Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy.

  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking and related technologies including: VMware server, Microsoft OS and Active Directory, and networking (SANs, VLANs, Wireless, Firewalls, Google Suite).

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience with Linux and Apache.
  • Experience with mySQL or a desire to learn.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Cybersecurity related knowledge and experience or a strong desire to learn.
